The company Stallone backed up is now ready to make fully AI-generated films. It has already partnered with Brilliant Pictures, a production company.

The use of artificial intelligence in artistic fields has been a heated topic of discussion for some time now. But that doesn't stop new AI tools from being introduced and even being supported by big names.

In February, Largo.ai announced that they had received $7.5 million from investors, including action movie star Sylvester Stallone.

What Is Largo.ai & What Does It Have to Do With the Movie Industry?

If you're unfamiliar with Largo.ai, it's essentially a platform that analyzes the countless factors contributing to a movie's success, ranging from casting choices to story elements. The company claims to help everyone in the industry make smart decisions before spending millions on production.

Now Largo.ai is partnering with Brilliant Pictures to create the world's first fully AI-automated film company.

During the recent talk with Variety, Sean O'Kelly, Brilliant Pictures' chairman said:

“We’ve been following Sami and Largo.ai’s trajectory since their early formation. As one of the earliest pioneers of AI-assisted filmmaking, their technology is way ahead of the curve. We’ve seen and trialled the limitless potential and value it can add as an assistance tool to underpin and enhance our human and creative instincts.”

O'Kelly's idea goes beyond the use of AI as a tool. He also sees it as a partnership between human creativity and technological advancement.

“We’re proud to now take this to the next level through our partnership. Working together we hope to set a new standard for AI-assisted filmmaking, embracing the future whilst respecting the creative contributions that make cinema magic,” he continued.

What Do People Think About AI Creating Art?

The topic of AI creating art is pretty controversial and people have been talking about it for ages.

“I think something like Sora is cool for pitching something like a sketch or mockup of your potential film, so long as it isn’t the final product,” Redditor awesomelydeluxe shared.

“Why would someone want to watch an AI-generated movie? You want to watch the collective effort of writers, directors and actors, not some randomly generated computer program,” Redditor Stiblex said.

But what is your opinion? Do you think AI can fully replace humans in the film industry?
