FX has officially renewed the acclaimed half-hour series for a fifth season, much to the delight of its devoted fanbase.

Season 4 of The Bear, which premiered on Hulu on 25 June with all 10 episodes available at once, continues to follow Carmy (Jeremy Allen White), Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) and Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they navigate the demanding world of running a fine dining restaurant. The ensemble cast also features Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, Oliver Platt, Abby Elliott and Matty Matheson.

Created by Christopher Storer, who serves as executive producer alongside Josh Senior, Joanna Calo, Cooper Wehde, Tyson Bidner, Matheson, Hiro Murai and Rene Gube, the series benefits from a strong creative team. Courtney Storer acts as co-executive producer and culinary producer. The show is produced by FX Productions.

John Landgraf, FX chairman, praised the series, stating:

The Bear continues to be a fan favourite worldwide and their response to this season—as seen through incredibly high viewership—has been as spectacular as any of its previous seasons. Year-in and year-out, Chris Storer, the producers, cast and crew make The Bear one of the best shows on television, and we are excited that they will continue to tell this magnificent story.”

There had been speculation about the show’s future given the meteoric rise of its stars and their busy schedules. Jeremy Allen White will portray Bruce Springsteen in the forthcoming 20th Century Studios biopic Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, anticipated to be a major Oscar contender. Ayo Edebiri is set to star opposite Julia Roberts in Luca Guadagnino’s After the Hunt (October release) and alongside Woody Harrelson in James L. Brooks’ Ella McCay (December release). Ebon Moss-Bachrach is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Ben Grimm, aka The Thing, in The Fantastic Four: First Steps (July), and will appear in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.

The Emmy nomination voting period closed on 23 June, with Season 3 expected to secure another impressive haul. In 2024, The Bear made history with 23 nominations and 11 wins — the most ever for a comedy series in a single year.
