The Director of 'Parasite' Considers this Steven Spielberg Film One of the Best Films of the Century

The action movie starring Tom Cruise is still going strong twenty years later.
Although he only recently collected a whole collection of Oscars for his hit Parasite, Bong Joon-ho has long amazed fans of South Korean cinema with his contrasting films with strong social messages.
Like most of his colleagues, the director sought inspiration for his own works among the greatest films of all time, but at the same time did not forget about his contemporaries.
For example, in the recently published list of Joon-ho's favorite films on the New York Times website, you can find a lot of interesting things, including Steven Spielberg's sci-fi action film.
Steven Spielberg's War of the Worlds is one of the best films of the century according to Bong Joon-ho.
Released in 2005, the film adaptation of the novel of the same name by H.G. Wells became Spielberg's own reflection on the events of September 11, 2001 - in the film, the director explores the psychology of American society and the paranoid thoughts that grip people during a potentially devastating event.
The plot of War of the Worlds revolves around a doctor and an ordinary family man Ray, who, trying to protect his children from an alien invasion, must figure out how to get to his ex-wife in Boston to hand over 10-year-old Rachel and 16-year-old Robbie to her unharmed.
The film became another blockbuster hit in Spielberg's career, collecting more than 600 million dollars in the world box office with a budget of 130 million.
In addition to War of the Worlds, the director's personal list boasts other famous titles - for example, the biographical drama The Social Network about Mark Zuckerberg and David Fincher's detective thriller Zodiac also made it into the top ten.
