Imagine playing a couple in love while actually being a couple in love.

The Big Bang Theory stars Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco may have broken up in real life already, but their romance story blossomed right on the set of the iconic sitcom — and hardly anything can top this in wholesomeness.

After meeting on The Big Bang Theory set in 2007, the duo quickly developed romantic feelings towards each other at some point in 2008. In fact, Galecki managed to pinpoint the exact scene which made them fall in love with each other!

In The Big Bang Theory: The Definitive, Inside Story of the Epic Hit Series, Galecki and Cuoco admitted that the scene in question took place in season 1, in the episode titled The Nerdvana Annihilation.

Remember Leonard's fantasies about him heroically saving Penny in an elevator shaft?

Who wouldn't fall in love after that, right?

"I think we fell a little in love in that elevator shaft," Cuoco said of the scene, only for Galecki to confirm, "We felt something, yeah. I think that was a massive turning point [in our relationship]."

According to the Leonard actor, at that point, it was pointless to continue denying having feelings for his co-worker. Both actors were sure that there were mutual feelings, and it would be more distracting "to try and continue to ignore it than to actually recognize it and surrender to it."

However, the relationship between Galecki and Cuoco didn't last as long as that between Leonard and Penny. While their characters proceeded to strengthen their bond and tie the knot, the actors broke up after dating for almost two years.

Still, the two remain very close friends up to this day.
