The epic film was a huge box office flop, but everything may change after its official digital release.

Anya Taylor-Joy is definitely having the best year in her career after Dune: Part 2’s immense success, but then something clearly went wrong.

Having received an amazing start with its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, Furiosa garnered all the possible accolades and finally hit the cinemas across the globe – only to receive a lukewarm reception.

Now that Furiosa’s box office results are more than disheartening, the movie’s release on streaming might come in handy, and Prime Video is about to confirm or disprove it.

Also starring Chris Hemsworth in one of the leading roles, Furiosa follows a younger version of Charlize Theron ’s character who is now portrayed by Anya Taylor-Joy.

Taking a closer look at the events that happened 15 or 20 years before Fury Road, the movie accompanies young Furiosa in her trip through the Wasteland alongside a great biker horde led by the warlord Dementus, played by Chris Hemsworth.

When they arrive at the Citadel ruled by the Immortan Joe, Furiosa sees no other option but to fight her way out to finally come back home.

Is Furiosa Bad (Otherwise, Why Did It Flop So Hard)?

Upon its release back in May, George Miller’s promising brand new movie was a frequent choice for moviegoers, yet Furiosa still turned out to be a box office disaster, despite everyone’s raving reviews.

The film grossed only $171 million against the initial budget of $168 million, thus causing major losses of around $75-95 million for Warner Bros. and its partners.

However, things weren’t that bad for the film regarding the critical acclaim since Furiosa secured impressive scores of 90% and 89% from professionals and the audience respectively on Rotten Tomatoes.

However bad things eventually turned out for the movie’s piggy bank, its streaming release still has a chance to improve the whole situation at least a little bit.

Furiosa is currently available for streaming on Prime Video and Fandango at Home.
