'The Sandman' Season 2 Trailer: Dream Faces His Greatest Challenges

Netflix has released the official main trailer for the second and final season of The Sandman, starring Tom Sturridge. In the trailer, Dream (Sturridge) fights not only for his own survival but also for The Dreaming itself, as chaos erupts around him. As Death (Kirby Howell-Baptiste) notes:

“Everyone loves a good story, but all stories come to an end.”

The first six episodes will premiere on July 6, followed by five more on July 24, with a bonus episode after Death dropping on July 31.

Season 2 follows Dream of the Endless as he faces impossible choices to save himself, his realm, and the waking world from fallout caused by his past actions. To seek redemption, Dream confronts friends, foes, gods, monsters, and mortals. The storyline draws from comic arcs like “Season of Mists,” “Brief Lives,” “The Kindly Ones,” and “The Sandman: Overture,” along with beloved single-issue stories such as Tales in the Sand, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and more.

Sturridge is joined by Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Mason Alexander Park, Donna Preston, Esmé Creed-Miles, Patton Oswalt, Gwendoline Christie, Jenna Coleman, Stephen Fry, Indya Moore, Steve Coogan, and many others. Developed by Allan Heinberg and executive produced by Neil Gaiman and David S. Goyer, the series is directed by Jamie Childs and produced by Warner Bros. Television.
