‘The Studio’ Finale Recap: Zoë Kravitz & Dave Franco Duo Is Back, Fans Thank Sal Saperstein

Seth Rogen’s chaotic Hollywood-themed satire show has just ended on an even wilder, but still happy ending-coded note. Here’s what happened in The Studio’s season 1 finale and what the show’s fans praise it for.
Yeah, that’s right — the second part of The Studio’s season 1 finale saw things getting even messier than anyone could imagine.
Led by Seth Rogen who also produced, wrote and directed the entire series, The Studio made it clear that everything Matt Remick was now responsible for in Continental would get progressively worse, though it still seems like Seth Rogen’s character and his colleagues did evade the biggest problem so far.
Oh, also Zoë Kravitz and Dave Franco made an epic return in the last episode, with the latter getting a double role of himself and the show’s narrator which just sent the entire show to a new level of absurdity.
Here’s what happens in The Studio’s season 1 finale and why the series’ fans are united in their opinion on it.
What Happened in ‘The Studio’ Season 1 Episode 10?
The final episode of the first season titled “Presentation” picks up at the same place where episode 9, “CinemaCon”, left the story, continuing with Matt and co’s attempts to bring Continental’s CEO Griffin Mill back to life after that diabolical pre-party with mushrooms-stuffed chocolate.
As the biggest movie fans you can only find in Hollywood, Matt, Sal, Quinn and Maya know only about those methods that worked perfectly in the movies — which is why the only way for them to revive drugged-up boss is to, well, cram him with even more drugs.
Apparently, things don’t work out the same way Matt hoped they would, though both Zoë Kravitz and Dave Franco, reappearing just as wasted as they were at the party, steal the show for a second time in a row (it’s fair to say Franco does it three times, also giving a drunken recap of the wild pre-party in the episode’s introduction).
Eventually, at the moment when Continental does seem to be doomed, the studio’s bosses get a round of ovations after Matt’s heartfelt confession and recognition of his colleagues’ work.
What ‘The Studio’ Fans Say About Season 1 Finale
Some might have expected a cliffhanger to show up there, but it seems like Continental will be taking a rest from all past troubles — for a while, until the show’s second season comes up.
“Was not expecting Dave Franco to steal the show a second time, lol. Almost thought they added that recap in last minute in response to the reception for him from last week's episode, but then he was full-time crashing out. Cranston using this role as warm-up to get back into Hal-mode for the MitM reboot, lol. Overall, super solid first season of a show and definitely feels like they have more in the tank! Wonder how long it took to film this one with how f—king technical it was”, Redditor l3reezer shared in a series-related thread.
“Nice character development for Matt. A little appreciation for other people rather than his own validation”, Jmolohereiam added.
“Great episode, largely because of the performances (story was nothing special). Overall, a great first season for one of the year's best comedies. Thank you, Sal Saperstein”, ContinuumGuy commented.
“Fitting finale to probably the best comedy of the year. Zoe and Dave killed it with their cameos”, colombogangsta agreed.
Was ‘The Studio’ Renewed for Season 2?
Yes, ‘The Studio’ will return: Apple TV+ greenlit it for a second season earlier in May.
