“19 seasons” sounds a bit excessive too.

Summary:

  • 911 was a Fox procedural drama that began airing on the channel in 2018.
  • However, it was canceled by Fox in 2023 and later picked up by ABC.
  • Now that the season 7 premiere date has been announced, fans are trying to predict everything that could go wrong.

As the television world watched the news of the WGA and SAG AFTRA strikes, fans of 911 had their own reason to worry. Not long before the strikes were announced, news broke that their favorite show was moving from Fox to ABC, leaving many fans questioning its future.

Of course, the fact of a change is not in itself a bad thing. It could even be a good sign, considering that Fox clearly doesn't want 911 to live any longer, but ABC is known for the longevity of its shows. All the viewers are worried about are the casting changes and the change in the quality of the writing.

Not that anyone has ever questioned a single storyline, twist, or character development arc on 911, but overall people were pretty happy with where the show was going. Now, only time will tell where it goes from here. There is only one thing 911 fans would really like to see their favorite show avoid: becoming Grey's Anatomy 2.0.

911 Season 7 Worst Predictions

It's hard to predict what season 7 will look like under ABC's production. They may change the direction of the show, focusing more on the interpersonal relationships of those we haven't had a chance to explore yet. Fans are definitely gearing up for the emotional roller coaster that dramas are known for.

However, there is a fine line between entertaining drama and fandom that viewers hope ABC producers never cross. Many fans agree that if they saw a character killed off for shock value, as has happened before on Grey's Anatomy, they would turn off their TV. At least, that is the general conclusion of the r/911FOX subreddit.

“If actors wanna leave just write them an exit storyline, this [is] one of the few shows I watch where I feel comfortable knowing no matter how much danger the characters are in they're not dying and I don't want that to change,” Redditor Federal_Street_8895 said.

Fortunately, there are no signs of any deaths for any reason at this time. While the move to another network has definitely caused a lot of anxiety among viewers, it is more likely to have a positive effect on the franchise, or no effect at all.

If you are interested to see if 911 will change under the production of ABC, you can go ahead and tune in for the premiere episode of season 7 on Thursday, March 14, 2024. Stay tuned to not miss any news or updates!
