Teletubbies is probably the most unsettling and odd children's show ever. And the facts about the show's production make it even creepier.

Teletubbies is one of the most controversial children's series in TV history. It gained huge popularity immediately, but at the same time, it was met with calls for its immediate closure and threats against the creators.

One thing is for sure: Teletubbies will go down in history as one of the weirdest children's shows, inspiring no less than strange theories.

1. One Episode Was So Creepy That It Was Banned

As an adult, you may find every episode of the series unsettling. However, kids typically perceive the Teletubbies as harmless, with one exception: the episode titled "Seesaw."

Aimed at children ages one to four, this episode featured a lion and a bear on skateboards who suddenly appeared and chased the Teletubbies while speaking in eerie voices. The musical score and new characters were so unsettling that they frightened rather than entertained.

Due to the backlash, the creators remade the episode, toning down the scary elements and changing the music. Despite these adjustments, many TV networks chose never to air "Seesaw" again.

2. The Teletubbies' Belly Screens Were Designed to Make Them Less Frightening

Since the Teletubbies are essentially kids, you would expect them to be the size of an average child. However, the Teletubbies universe operates by its own rules. It turns out that Laa-Laa, Po, Dipsy, and Tinky Winky are absolute giants.

The shortest is Po, who stands at a staggering six feet seven inches. The others? All over seven feet tall. Now try to unsee that image.

The Teletubbies' screens appeared on their bellies after the scriptwriters realized that children might find the giant dolls creepy, so they needed something to distract the children.

3. The Giant Rabbits Kept Dying on the Set

The Teletubbies world is home to its famously oversized rabbits. Although they don't appear massive on screen, these are actually Flemish Giants, a breed that can grow up to four feet, three inches long. Originally bred for their meat, they have notoriously weak hearts.

The rabbits were dying unexpectedly on set. But these bunnies didn't just die – they died happy. Why? Because they were too busy obeying nature's most urgent rule for rabbits: reproduce at all costs.

They were constantly engaging in adult activities, often at the worst possible moments, forcing the crew to reshoot scenes repeatedly.

4. 'Teletubbies' Is Surrounded by Creepy Conspiracy Theories

Given the show's unsettling lore, it was only a matter of time before conspiracy theories began to flourish. Some fans have obsessively rewound the opening sequence, claiming that the show's giggling baby sun briefly flashes a demonic grin.

But the real madness? The Teletubbies' antennas might be the wizarding artifacts. Tinky Winky, Dipsy, and Po's headpieces form an almost perfect Deathly Hallows symbol, while Laa-Laa's curly antenna looks like Harry Potter's scar. Now that's a multiverse we deserve...
