This Animated Masterpiece With 100% on RT Is a Hidden Gem From 'Regular Show' Creators
And also it is a must-watch for fans of Over the Garden Wall.
In November 2016, Cartoon Network released an eight-minute pilot episode of the animated series Infinity Train, and viewers were instantly intrigued.
The concept was simple yet brilliant: a geeky girl named Tulip finds herself on a strange train where each car is practically a world unto itself. Created by Owen Dennis, who worked on Regular Show, Infinity Train became one of the most unusual animated projects in recent years.
What Is 'Infinity Train' About?

Tulip dreams of becoming a game designer and attending a programming camp. However, her parents can't take her – they have other obligations, and they recently divorced.
Desperate, Tulip runs away from home and finds a strange train that is supposed to take her to camp. Instead, it takes her to a desolate, post-apocalyptic world filled with endless train cars on endless tracks.
She travels through the cars with a strange robot named One-One and a talking corgi named Atticus. Tulip doesn't know how to escape the train but suspects that she must navigate through all the cars to reach the locomotive by solving riddles and overcoming obstacles.
'Infinity Train' Is Packed With Action and Detail, Moving Forward at a Wild Pace
Infinity Train has a frantic pace, and the comparison to a never-ending train is obvious. In just one episode, Tulip admires the local beauty, runs through a couple of cars, solves a puzzle, and still has time to reflect.
Almost every episode could be developed into a 20-minute story, which would benefit the animated series. Due to the chaotic pace, the writers barely have time to develop Tulip.
However, thanks to this pace, the Infinity Train universe is rich – the creators throw in dozens of small details that gradually build into a coherent picture.
'Infinity Train' Is a Perfect Pick for Those Who Still Miss 'Over the Garden Wall'

Infinity Train and Over the Garden Wall are united by their form and underlying structure: the characters mysteriously find themselves in a strange, surreal world and attempt to escape. As in Over the Garden Wall, each new realm is almost a separate universe with its own rules, inhabitants, and dangers.
Like Wirt and Greg, Tulip encounters bizarre characters and mysteries that gradually reveal the workings of this world and her own soul.
Both shows masterfully balance childlike naiveté with adult reflection, offering viewers an entertaining and thought-provoking story. While Over the Garden Wall was a story about acceptance and farewell, Infinity Train is about accepting oneself and one's feelings.
