I'll dance, dance, dance...

Sorry for bringing Lady Gaga 's Bloody Mary up again, just when the Wednesday hysteria on social media seems to have died down. Worry not, the viral hit is not something Tim Burton was so protective of.

When filming the first season of Netflix 's future gothic banger, Tim Burton was all in on including unique stuff: the more unexpected, the better. One particular song choice was so important for him he wouldn't listen to anybody asking to change it; and no, we're not even talking about The Goo Goo Muck by The Cramps!

The Wednesday dance may have turned out to be the most popular music sequence in the show, but it was a different scene Burton was obsessing over. Remember when Wednesday delivered a mesmerizing cello cover of Metallica's Paint It Black?

Yes, well, say thank you to Tim Burton for keeping it — because a lot of people wanted to change the song or at least tweak it in some way.

“I was just looking on YouTube for different cello covers of pop songs, and I found that one, and I put it in, and I cut the sequence to that piece of music. And Tim just loved it and would not hear of changing it... [When] that piece was in, Tim was just completely behind it — at one point, even the band wanted to change to a different orchestration of it. And he was like, ‘No, no, it must be the original!’” recalled editor Jay Prychidny when speaking to Syfy.

We can't deny the cultural impact Wednesday's dance had on literally everyone, but the Paint It Black cello cover remains one of the most beautiful parts of the first season.

We can only expect more musical endeavours in the upcoming season 2 — Lady Gaga's Bloody Mary being the most obvious inclusion. Even though the viral song was never a part of the series soundtrack officially, the TikTok trend quickly propelled it back to the charts, and Wednesday season 2 announcement by Netflix came with it in the background.

So far, the premiere date for Wednesday season 2 remains unknown, because the production is halted amid the ongoing writers' and actors' strikes.
