Tom Holland’s 2022 Adventure Flick With 41% RT Score Is Suddenly a Global Netflix Hit

The movie with a star-packed cast is getting a second life after a major success in the box office 3 years ago.
While Tom Holland is somewhere on a Greek island filming for Christopher Nolan ’s Odyssey where he stars alongside Matt Damon, the actor’s critical flop from 3 years ago is also having its best time in Netflix ’s top charts.
Released in 2022, the movie came as a long-awaited video game adaptation, though, despite its raving success in the box office worldwide, it fell into disgrace with critics.
Still, the star-studded cast, which also includes Mark Wahlberg and Antonio Banderas, kept the flick afloat, and it’s currently getting a lot of attention from Netflix’s viewers across the world.
Uncharted Is Netflix’s Sudden Hit 3 Years After Release
The movie now has a solid reason to celebrate its release’s third anniversary as it’s currently sitting on the 5th position in Netflix’s global top, according to FlixPatrol.
Having remained in development for more than 10 years before it eventually hit theatres, Uncharted follows Holland’s street-smart thief Nathan Drake and Wahlberg’s seasoned treasure hunter Victor "Sully" Sullivan as they embark on a joint mission to rediscover a treasure that Ferdinand Magellan lost 500 years ago.
Things get complicated as soon as the prize is also eyed by Banderas’ Moncada who believes that the treasure belongs to his family. Everything is at stake for Drake and Sullivan who now have to learn to cooperate to find the treasure and, hopefully, the former’s long-lost brother.
Uncharted Was a Wow for Audiences, but a Disappointment for Critics
Coming as one of the most anticipated releases of the beginning of 2022, Uncharted had a lucrative opening weekend across the world and eventually ended up with around $407 million in the box office, winning big even with an impressive budget of $120 million.
However, despite doing quite well with the viewers, the movie failed to receive favorable reviews from critics who crashed it for the script, lack of faithfulness to the original video game, doubtful action sequences and, well, miscasting.
On Rotten Tomatoes, Uncharted holds scores of 41% from critics and 89% from the audiences.
