Was Hemsworth Using A Body Double For His Naked Scene In 'Love and Thunder'?
Since the release of the first trailer for 'Love and Thunder', fans have been wondering if Chris Hemsworth's naked back is really going to be shown in the movie. And is it really his?
Taiki Waititi's trademark sense of humor is perfect for big MCU movies, as 'Thor 3' certainly proved, but it looks like the director has decided to expand the scope of his latest summer blockbuster even further. In it, as the trailer promises, fans will finally see Chris Hemsworth nude from the back, the first partial nudity in MCU history. Of course, this is used for comedic effect, once again debunking Thor's status as a God changing him to a true comic relief character. But narrative problems aside, fans are beginning to wonder if Chris Hemsworth filmed this scene himself or used a double.
And it looks like the actor actually showed off his own body for the scene in the Olympic court, flexing those muscles in front of dozens of crew members. Talking to Variety, Taika Waititi confirmed that Hemsworth did not use a double for this scene, posing in front of the camera himself.
"We had talked about, 'Yeah, we gotta show off this body.' My whole thing was like, Chris works so hard, you've gotta show it off. Don't cover it up with all these suits and the cape and stuff, it's not fair!" Waititi said.
Despite the fact that the first reviews, which called 'Love and Thunder' underwhelming, are actively discussed today, fans of the actor still intend to see the film for one and only one reason – naked Chris Hemsworth.
