Is Wanda returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022), Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch, supposedly dies. However, the character might be revived very soon, even though Elizabeth Olsen is apparently a bit tired of playing the same role.

Gandja Monteiro, the talented director known for her work on Netflix 's Wednesday, is reportedly set to direct a special for Marvel. This scoop comes from the insider CWGST, who shared this exclusive news in their Instagram.

Monteiro has also directed two final episodes for the recently concluded season one of The Walking Dead ’s spinoff, Dead City. Given that Monteiro is no stranger to the world of fantasy and drama, it makes her a perfect fit for this project.

The Marvel special that Monteiro is apparently set to direct is rumored to be a part of a secret comeback plan for the Scarlet Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen.

Do you want Wanda to make a comeback?

Marvel Studios is believed to be working on a Disney Plus Special that will delve deeper into the history of witchcraft in the MCU. This special, supposedly titled Witches Road, is based on a comic book storyline of the same name.

The special is expected to tie in with the WandaVision spinoff Agatha: Coven of Chaos, which stars Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness. Gandja Monteiro also directed some of the episodes of Agatha: Coven of Chaos.

Interestingly, the Witches Road special is rumored to be an Agatha prequel, set before the events of Agatha: Coven of Chaos. This means we might get to see more of the origins of Agatha Harkness and her journey into witchcraft.

While the Witches Road special is yet to be officially announced, the anticipation is already high among Marvel fans. There's a sense of approval for Monteiro's involvement, with fans acknowledging her talent and expressing optimism about what she could bring to the project.

With Monteiro at the helm, the special is sure to bring a fresh perspective to the MCU's exploration of witchcraft.

However, not all reactions have been positive. Some fans have voiced concerns about Marvel's focus on lesser-known characters, questioning the decision to invest in these characters before more popular ones like X-Men and the Fantastic Four.
