Westworld is undoubtedly a unique series that quickly took over the world with its captivating storylines, characters, and cinematography.

By combining the Wild West and futuristic themes, the dystopian show kept millions of fans at the edges of their seats from the very first episode. Sadly, it came to an abrupt end after four seasons, and this robbed fans of what could've been the most touching scene.

The show's season four finale aired earlier this year, and viewers were left eagerly anticipating the next season's events.

Everyone was sure we'd at least get one more final season since the creators had already teased the fifth season. But in a shock move, HBO canceled the sci-fi series. The reason behind this decision is said to be falling ratings and an expensive production budget. Unsurprisingly, the news left many fans stunned and disappointed.

But apart from viewers not getting to see more of Westworld adventures, there was one more thing this unforeseen decision robbed fans of – a scene everyone was waiting for, which can now only take place in our imagination.

By now, you've probably already guessed which scene it is. Yes, we're talking about seeing Dolores and Teddy reunite as their real selves. All fans were looking forward to their reunion, which they thought was coming next season. Unfortunately, the viewers didn't get that much-awaited closure when it became apparent that there won't be a next season. Perhaps it was meant to look like a hopeful ending, but it turned out to be borderline heartbreaking.

Westworld Star Received Cancelation News in the Most Brutal Way Possible

The co-creator of the show, Lisa Joy, herself had previously told The Wrap that she and the team were strongly hoping for a season 5 renewal so that they could finish the story they started with the first season as it was planned way back when the writers created the plot.

The reaction of the fans was understandably strong, and not in a good way. They were so upset that they, in fact, felt let down by the television network as it's not the first time they've dropped a series prematurely. Some even stated that HBO was one of the few networks they looked to for quality content and were willing to pay for their subscription even if they weren't interested in any other shows just to see Westworld finalize the way it was planned.

Zoomers Think There's a Giant Plot Hole in Both Home Alone 1 and 2

The big finale was a disappointing experience, without a doubt. And after not getting the ending the show deserved, and fans wanted and needed, all that's left to do is hope for a movie because that would be the only right way to wrap up the series!
