Who Does Wednesday Really End Up With? Fans Fear Weird Romance Might Be Back
Jenna Ortega’s character divided her time between two potential boyfriends in Wednesday’s season 1, but the show might be heading for pretty much undesired couple goals in chapter 2.
Even though this was far from what she’s looking for, Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday partially got her fame at Nevermore Academy after setting her two potential love interests against each other in the show’s first season.
While some were cheering for her developed romance with Tyler and others thought something would definitely work out with Xavier, in the end Wednesday doesn’t end up having a relationship with either of characters.
This was mostly due to her being highly suspicious about Tyler and then figuring out she was right, and also because Xavier’s actor Percy Hynes White left the series after the first season, ending his storyline in there for good.

So far, there hasn’t been much to judge by, but the second season’s part 1 finale did imply that there will be something else to explore in Tyler and Wednesday’s relationships in the upcoming part 2.
As the show’s co-creator Miles Millar revealed in a recent interview with ScreenRant, Jenna Ortega’s character might have closed the door on her romance with Tyler, but, now that he’s set free again, even Wednesday feels like this chapter isn’t closed yet.
“They have chemistry, and Tyler speaks to it and calls her out on it. I think there's something there. On Tyler's side, he definitely holds a flame for Wednesday, and he doesn't let her forget that”, Millar said.
Why ‘Wednesday’ Fans Think Wednesday and Tyler Won’t Be Together Anyway
It seems normal for many modern shows to make a couple go through major obstacles (including one of the pair being an actual monster) to eventually reinforce their bond, but Wednesday’s fans think the titular character is way too smart to get into the same trap for a second time.
“I really don’t understand continuing to ship Tyler and Wednesday. He betrayed her, her friends, and almost killed Eugene. Not to mention he’s creepy af and she’s too confident to put up with that. I can see them having a complicated arch-nemesis relationship, that’s about it lol”, Redditor IndigoRose2022 suggested in a thread.
“Wednesday and Tyler as a couple really wouldn't make sense. Wednesday is not the type of person who fits the trope of forgiving the villain and becoming friends or them becoming a couple. She would hold a grudge”, TheUltimatenerd05 agreed.
Wednesday’s season 2 part 2 is coming to Netflix on September 3.
