Will Matt Reeves Announce 'The Batman 2' At CinemaCon 2022 This Tuesday?
Although Sony did manage to surprise us with the unexpected announcement of yet another 'Spider-Man' spin-off, it's Warner Bros. presentation that is going to be one of the biggest events at CinemaCon 2022.
Currently there are five DC titles teased at studio's stand at CinemaCon: 'The Flash ', 'Black Adam ', 'Shazam!' and 'Aquaman ' sequels, and animated 'DC League of Super-Pets. However, DC fans are waiting for yet another, perhaps more important part of Warner Bros. presentation: potential 'The Batman 2' announcement.
A couple of days ago, insiders claimed that there will be no new information on 'The Batman' sequel at CinemaCon. However, as of now the situation seemingly changed: rumors now claim that there indeed will be the announcement of 'The Batman 2', with some people on Twitter even discussing a rumored premiere date – June 21, 2024.
Now 'The Batman 2' is trending on Twitter while the original film starring Robert Pattinson is currently streaming on HBO Max. As lots of DC fans expressing their hope for the sequel announcement, some point out that Matt Reeves, who directed the first movie, has been quite busy recently, developing not one, but two TV shows simultaneously – so him getting back in that director's chair is highly unlikely at this point. And Warner Bros. certainly wouldn't replace a director of one of their most financially successful premieres of the year – so the studio execs are willing to wait for Reeves to finish working on other projects.
Warner Bros. studio presentation at CinemaCon 2022 in Las Vegas starts on Tuesday, April 26, at 4:00 PM local time.
