Quite few people know about the actress’s English-language debut.

Summary:

  • Eiza González is currently having her big fame moment thanks to her roles in Netflix 's 3 Body Problem and Guy Ritchie ’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, but not many people know what her career actually started with.
  • The actress debuted her English-language path as an actress in a 2014 horror series that showcased her strong abilities for dramatical roles.
  • The creators of the series were supposed to reinvent González’s character’s image, but the actress managed to do so herself but to her convincing and versatile performance.

It’s been quite a successful year for Eiza González so far as the actress took up one of the leading roles in Netflix's current hit 3 Body Problem and soon once again will appear on the screen alongside Henry Cavill in Guy Ritchie’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.

As the actress of Mexican descent has risen to prominence in recent years, her real star-coded series — which was released 10 years ago — was unfairly overlooked.

3 Body Problem Star Was Also an Iconic Rodriguez-verse Character

From Dusk till Dawn: The Series, the horror series that comes as a part of the franchise based on the comic of the same name, became González’s first English-language project — here she portrays Santánico Pandemonium, originally played by another Mexican actress, Salma Hayek.

Though having to bring to the screen the character that already exists in different interpretations, González yet makes Santánico completely different by a fascinating, simultaneously dramatical and fierce performance.

The main storyline follows luckless Gecko brothers who are chased by the FBI and Texas Ranger Freddie Gonzalez after having robbed a bank and killed several people there. When Gonzalez finally pursues the brothers, he, alongside the FBI as well, finds himself trapped in a desert bar that is secretly run by supernatural creatures.

It is there where they also meet Eiza González’s character whose real name is Kisa and who is desperate to get her freedom back after being turned into a vampire and tortured for centuries.

The series highlights the character’s main goal — survival and escape without having to have her hands covered in someone’s blood. Behind her tough appearance Kisa is vulnerable, sincere and compassionate — the features that are also hidden in her name that means sunlight.

And even though From Dusk till Dawn: The Series has initially been striving to reinvent Santánico Pandemonium’s image, it’s mainly Eiza González who managed to embody all the seemingly contradictory features to demonstrate her character’s personal tragedy.
