Another 1923 Star Gushes Over Taylor Sheridan’s Hit Paramount+ Show

Ever since his Yellowstone hit the screens with its first season back in 2018, Taylor Sheridan has remained one of the most acclaimed masters of Western genre, expanding his own TV universe with more recent hit drama Landman.

While the latter is getting things prepared for its upcoming second instalment, Sheridan’s other series 1923, which serves as one of so far two existing sequels to Yellowstone, keeps its status of a massive hit on Paramount+, having become the streamer’s most-watched show in history after the second season’s premiere back in February.

With all the accolades 1923 has received from both critics and audiences, the show’s actors also had no intention to shy away from giving more praise to Sheridan, and one more star has just joined the list.

1923’s Jennifer Carpenter Says Taylor Sheridan’s Show Brought Her Back to Life

Despite being featured in the show only in a guest role, Jennifer Carpenter has been having the time of her life while working with Taylor Sheridan.

The actress, starring in 1923’s second season as Marshal Mamie Fossett, recently revealed in an interview with ScreenRant that she felt privileged to see the whole production process and the way Sheridan is building his shows, adding that it was “the most satisfying viewing experience I've had in years”.

“Not a second of my time — or hopefully yours — is wasted with this show. I can't tell you how much this job meant to me. It reinvigorated me in so many ways. It brought me back to life as an artist”, Carpenter stated.

The actress also admitted that, apart from 1923, she’s a huge fan of everything Sheridan does and has so far watched all of his series, reassuring potential viewers that Sheridan’s talent for writing compelling Western-y stories is definitely worth every minute of their time.

Helen Mirren Also Has a Lot of Good Things to Say About Taylor Sheridan

The writer-director has been long admired for his unique writing style as a whole, though 1923’s lead actress has recently pointed out a specific detail Sheridan deserves another portion of praise for.

Ahead of the second season’s premiere around a month ago, Helen Mirren praised Sheridan’s show as a solid proof of the Western genre finally debunking its long-standing annoying tropes.

“Young women should be very grateful to Taylor Sheridan for writing such great women roles. Cara [Mirren’s character] is just one of them. He’s written a whole series of great, great women’s roles. Those roles didn’t exist when I was growing up in our business”, the actress stated.

She also added that Sheridan’s female characters are “interesting, complicated, vulnerable, strong”, which is what makes the entire series a truly outstanding piece on modern TV.
