Apple TV Finally Released Season 2 of Its Best Criminal Series – Don't Miss It
One of the most enigmatic detective duos is back.
The second season of the British detective series Criminal Record continues on Apple TV. The show tells the story of the confrontation and eventual alliance between two very different police officers: veteran Dan and young officer June.
Although the first season seemed complete, work on the second season began just a month after its premiere. Now, almost two years later, the characters are returning.
What Is 'Criminal Record' Season 2 About?

A Muslim leader delivers a sermon in a Suffolk square. June Lenker and her interpreter listen to the speech while scanning the faces of those present. A moment's hesitation leads to disaster.
Suddenly, a crowd of masked young men emerges from around a corner, and one of them wounds a protester. June catches a glimpse of the attacker's face – it seems familiar. The wounded teenager dies in her arms.
Dan and June cross paths again – in order to prevent further crimes, they will have to work together.
Season 2 of 'Criminal Record' Introduces New Dynamics and Ambiguous Characters
Cush Jumbo and Peter Capaldi remain key elements of the series, but their interaction has taken on a different form. Having experienced professional and personal trauma, Lenker has become tougher.
She has begun to navigate the law and determine what is acceptable. Family therapy is of no use – the son wants to live with his father, so June throws herself headlong into the investigation.
Peter Capaldi's character has become even more ambiguous. At the end of the first season, Hegarty seemed remorseful and willing to change. However, we see him once again hanging out with old friends and plotting.
Is he telling the truth, or is he constructing yet another convenient theory? Is he driven by the desire to catch criminals or personal gain?
'Criminal Record' Season 2 Is Layered Instead of Offering Black-And-White Answers

The same can be said about the other characters. Criminal Record avoids simple divisions – no one is perfect, everyone makes mistakes, and everyone must decide what deserves forgiveness and what doesn't.
This multilayered approach elevates the show beyond the realm of a run-of-the-mill detective series, transforming it into a platform for discussing sensitive topics without glossing over the rough edges.
The second season of Criminal Record once again brings Dan Hegarty and June Lenker together, but now they are reluctant allies. The show expands its scope without losing its core strength: the magnetic duo of Capaldi and Jumbo.
Don't expect quick entertainment here – this show is like the second season of True Detective, leaving a sour taste in the mouth.
