Does Thing Really Die in ‘Wednesday’? Season 2 Storyline Has Fans Heartbroken

Wednesday’s loyal assistant finally gets more screen time in the show’s season 2, but still goes through a rough patch that makes fans worry for his future.
Things might be getting much more serious after that shocking cliffhanger in Wednesday’s season 2, but it feels like the eponymous character’s weird friend and helper is more used to it than any other creature around.
In the first season, Thing nearly dies after being stabbed, but then is miraculously saved by Uncle Fester and stitched by Wednesday herself.
The second season, however, doesn’t go much easier on poor Thing, who this time faces psychological struggles rather than physical abuse.
In ‘Wednesday’ Season 2, Thing Clashes With Addams Family Members
While he might have seemed a quiet and undemanding addition to Wednesday’s family in the first instalment, the second season draws Thing in a different light, making him voice all the issues he’s been having with the Addams lately.
Apart from being torn between Morticia and Wednesday whose relationships are now more tense than ever, Thing also points out his seemingly inferior position in the family despite helping Wednesday out all the time, implying that the Addams don’t really care about him and consider him nothing more than their maid.
This is also brought up when Thing reveals to Enid that the entire family has forgotten about his birthday that he celebrated drinking all alone.
Since all of these issues remain unresolved by the time Wednesday reaches its second season’s volume 1 finale, Thing will likely demand justice even more loudly in the upcoming second part.
Playing Thing Is Harder Than You Think, and Victor Dorobantu Proves It
Even though many believed Thing to be nothing short of a CGI product, Tim Burton’s show got another actor to make Wednesday’s handy assistant as real as possible.
To celebrate the release of the series’ season 2 part 1, Thing’s actor Victor Dorobantu shared several sneak peeks into what his job really looks like, and it’s actually far from being moving his hand back and forth.
As Wednesday’s fans could notice in both instalments, Thing embarks on all sorts of adventures to help Wednesday out, which also includes climbing walls, going through dangerous forests, going down stairs and even riding in a cart.
For all of this to become something realistic-looking, Dorobantu gets dressed in a blue suit and has some makeup put on every time he’s on set.
In the meantime, Wednesday’s season 2 volume 2 is landing on Netflix on September 3.
