No one really wants to see Kelly Severide move from the Fire Department.

Right after the news broke down about Taylor Kinney's unexpected leave from the show, fans started going crazy with theories.

Of course, being one of the central characters in the story, Kelly Severide could not disappear without any explanation at all, especially since the details of Taylor's leave are unknown.

As much hope everyone has for his quick return to the series, it could easily go either way.

Later the viewers found out that Kelly Severide becomes involved in the investigation training, which is supposed to be "the best arson investigation training program in the world".

Of course, such an opportunity could not be passed, so Severide had to leave the team temporarily just to come back even better than before.

Sounds like the perfect solution, since viewers don't know exactly how long it takes, and when to expect the lieutenant to come back.

However, some fans go even further in their assumptions and suggest there could've been a whole spin-off about the OFI daily work.

While some fans are excited about such a perspective, arguing that it would be fun to see fire cases from this perspective, especially with Severide's transfer to the OFI as an investigator, others are not so sure about the idea.

Many fans don't think that OFI was portrayed very well in the show so far, the stories were not that interesting and even led them to skip some parts of the episodes.

"Maybe an OFI spin-off without Severide starring Seager and new staff members we haven't seen [would work] but an OFI spin-off featuring Severide as the primary is a bit desperate to not let go of the show to me," Redditor everynameisused100 said, suggesting another way of creating a spin-off.

Anyways, there are no official statements about the possibility of such a spin-off, nor are there any signs of it being in production.

Most likely the fans will see Severide return to the Chicago Fire Department and strengthen the team with the new knowledge. Tune in to NBC on Wednesdays to see how the story unfolds.
