Anthony Hopkins once again proves that retirement is not on his to-do list. The 86-year-old legendary actor has recently starred in Matthew Brown’s drama Freud's Last Session showing Hopkins in the role of the founder of psychoanalysis Sigmund Freud.

Now, after a very short break, the actor will be back again bringing to the screens a bloody action drama about Rome’s infamous gladiator fights.

The upcoming sword-and-sandal show Those About to Die will get its release on Peacock with all 10 episodes coming to the streaming service on July 18. The fresh teaser trailer shows Hopkins as Roman emperor Vespasian amid the on-going rising popularity of the gladiator fights which results in a harsh competition for the dirty business built on the bloody sport.

Except for Anthony Hopkins, the cast also includes Game of Thrones star Iwan Rheon, Sara Martins, Tom Hughes, Jojo Macari, Moe Hashim, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, Rupert Penry-Jones, Gabriella Pession, Dimitri Leonidas, Emilio Sakraya and many others.

The brand new show’s creators promise to get the viewers to Rome that has never been seen before — the city where, apart from the origins of modern democracy and the development of the civilized society, relentless cruelties are also brought to the main stage in an attempt to make a fortune from such a weird way of entertaining the masses.

The future series comes as one more proof for Anthony Hopkins’s thriving career, despite his age. The actor even got his second Oscar award only a couple of years ago, but still goes on with ambitious projects — and there’s a reason for that.

In one of his recent interviews Hopkins admitted that it’s work that keeps him alive and, if he still gets several more years of being an actor, he will definitely use the chance.
