But she still deserves something better than that.

Summary:

  • The latest news about Euphoria ’s season 3 doesn’t serve as a big consolation for its fans as the show is still very unlikely to continue its run due to multiple creative disagreements.
  • Despite that, some members of its cast still cherish their hope to come back to their characters — and Hunter Schafer is one of them.
  • Though the actress has recently revealed her sincere wishes for her character’s good life path in the third season, such a plot twist may never happen because of the show’s specific focus.

The chances of ever seeing Euphoria’s season 3 are fading more and more every day — with all the creative issues about the script that never got to everyone’s likes and the cast’s busy schedule that the series doesn’t become a part of anymore, it seems like Sam Levinson’s teen drama may be at risk of its final breath.

Despite that, HBO is not giving in — and so are several actors of the show who still have hopes to bring their characters to the screen again.

Though many viewers or even cast members may already be somewhat indifferent about Euphoria’s fate, Hunter Schafer isn’t one of them — and she has all the reasons for it.

In the show, Schafer portrays troublesome teenager Jules who gets into complicated hop-on/hop-off relationships with Zendaya ’s Rue — and the season 2’s ending made fans wonder where the characters would stand after the possible third season’s time jump.

At the GQ Global Creativity Awards, where the actress made her red carpet walk, Schafer was asked what she would expect from her character if season 3 was to happen — and her answer was simpler than everybody could think.

The actress revealed that she was feeling sorry for Jules who had to have tough times during both seasons, so for now she just hopes that in 5 years from where Euphoria left the viewers Jules got “to chill out and be a regular teenage girl”.

For those who haven’t watched the show or just forgotten, Jules’ path is indeed one of the toughest among all the main characters.

The first season unveiled her difficult childhood with an addicted mother who eventually sent her daughter to a psychiatric hospital after the latter tried to hurt herself. Growing up, Jules kept getting into more trouble due to her promiscuous relationships with men she met online.

The second season’s ending sees Jules breaking it all up with Rue and her next actions remain unclear.

Yet it’s still very unlikely for the show to eventually make it up to the much-suffering character — just because the whole sense of it will be lost.

During its two-season run, Euphoria never took happy and self-sufficient teenagers to the main stage, leaving them as a bit part that will go in contrast with tormented and anxious leading characters.

Thus, if something good does happen to Jules in season 3, it will nonetheless go hand in hand with some more life challenges for her, otherwise her character’s brightness will be covered by the main theme’s obscurity forever.

In case Euphoria’s season 3 will indeed see the light, of course.
