Iconic 2000s Movie Even Quentin Tarantino Was 'Fan-Geeking' About

The choice might seem a bit odd, but still: this live-action Disney comedy has conquered not only the hearts of thousands of viewers, but also the creator of Pulp Fiction and Django Unchained himself.
We're talking about Freaky Friday, the 2003 movie that is arguably one of the best picks for a comfort 2000s movie night if you're feeling nostalgic. Tarantino professed his love for the movie to its director Mark Waters himself.
According to Waters, Tarantino went as far as "fan-geeking" over Freaky Friday. Can you imagine the Kill Bill director "fan-geeking" over a 2003 Disney comedy? Waters doesn't need to.
"One time, I got cornered at a party by Quentin Tarantino, who outlined in great detail shot by shot that sequence of the House of Blues to me," Waters recalled when speaking to The Hollywood Reporter. "He was like outlining why it was a genius scene and a perfect ending for the movie, and I was like, 'This is cool man. Quentin Tarantino was like, fan-geeking me.'”
The House of Blues scene in question had Anna (Lindsey Lohan) in her mother Tess' body plays the guitar backstage, while Tess herself (Jamie Lee Curtis), inhabiting Anna's body, pretends to play it on stage.
Eventually, the two return to their own bodies, wrapping up the tumultuous adventure that began by the mother and daughter opening each other's fortune cookies.
Freaky Friday may seem like an unusual movie choice for someone like Quentin Tarantino, but he, a notorious movie lover, has always been quite diverse about his picks.
Among the iconic director's favorite movies are also films like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Back to the Future, The Thing, and even blockbuster Top Gun: Maverick.
