New MGM+ Show With GoT Star Is a Perfect Silo Fix From Hugh Howey

Still got that Silo-shaped hole in your heart? Luckily, the series creator has more stories up his sleeve.
Summary:
- Hugh Howey's Silo was adapted for screens by Apple TV and ended its first season on a cliffhanger, with the second chapter yet to come
- New MGM+ show Beacon 23 is also based on a story by Hugh Howey
- The new flick is set in 23rd century, revolving around a man who works at a remote lighthouse in space
Apple TV's Silo has had a lot of people hooked, and the fact that it ended the first season on a jaw-dropping cliffhanger didn't help. The show is based on a book series by Hugh Howey, and luckily for us, the author has even more engaging stories to offer. One of them happens to have also been adapted for silver screens — this time, by MGM+.
Enter Beacon 23 — a sci-fi flick with a strong Silo vibe, a space "lighthouse," and Game of Thrones' Lena Headey herself as the main star.
What Is Beacon 23 About?
The series takes us to the Milky Way outskirts, where two strangers are stranded together on a celestial lighthouse. This lighthouse helps spaceships pass by, and it is operated by a soldier named Halan.
One day, his loneliness is disrupted by Aster — a government agent who crash-lands in the vicinity and claims to be very interested in some strange rocks that have been allegedly discovered nearby.
If trust issues were a shows, they would be this one: neither Halan nor Aster trust each other, and the overall mysterious vibe is very similar to that of Silo, where every episode left you with a sense of "something's going on here."
Where to Stream Beacon 23?
The show premiered on November 12, and you can watch it on MGM+ or in the MGM+ app. However, in case you don't have cable, but are an Amazon Prime subscriber, you can add it to your membership for $5.99 a month.
Besides, Beacon 23 is also available on Apple TV+.
