You won’t need to miss him with these titles available online.

Being the accomplished TV star of Sherlock and Fleabag, Andrew Scott is preparing to get even higher with his new Netflix ’s crime thriller series about a cunning con artist, Ripley, which is just around the corner. So it’d be fair to recall the most remarkable actor’s movie roles, with five of them being enlisted here.

1. Pride (2014)

Where to watch: Prime and Hulu

Unlike the character of Tom Ripley, the role in this historical dramedy didn’t imply confidence and strong will. However, playing the insecure and quiet Gethin, supporting the gay miners during a political strike, Scott demonstrates the surprising aspects of his acting range by delivering a performance that says it all without many words.

2. Handsome Devil (2016)

Where to watch: Prime and AppleTV+

This Irish movie likely holds some personal significance for the actor, as it also explores the theme of sexuality and coming outs, but in a more serious tone than the previous title. There he played a homosexual teacher, who helps the private schoolers to find themselves and to solve their inner conflicts, at the same time dealing with his own one.

3. 1917 (2019)

Where to watch: Netflix and Prime

Despite his screen time being here a modest 5 minutes, Scott’s convincing performance, as well as the perfect writing of his character, definitely adds to the wholesomeness of this epic war drama. His portrayal of the exhausted Lieutenant helping the young soldiers is indeed a fair reason to dive into the groundbreaking two-shots movie.

4. Catherine Called Birdy (2022)

Where to watch: Prime and AppleTV+

Starring The Last of Us ’ Bella Ramsey, this medieval comedy serves as a great proof of the actor’s perfect match with comedies. Playing the obsessive father of the main heroine, Lord Rollo, Scott is brilliantly showing his entertaining side by his outstanding ability to time comical expressions with his body language and tone of voice.

5. All Of Us Strangers (2023)

Where to watch: Prime and Hulu

Last, but not least comes last year’s sensation, which received not only the Internet’s love, but also much critical recognition, earning six BAFTA Award nominations. The movie, exploring themes of love, grief and traumas from the past, stars Scott as a writer who gets lost in his memories and in his love with his neighbor, played by Paul Mescal. This acting duo definitely adds to the greatness of this sophisticated romantic drama.
