Chuck Lorre’s next big project has been recently confirmed to focus on the original show’s most underrated characters.

Despite not coming to small screens anytime soon, things are moving forward for The Big Bang Theory ’s new and very exciting spinoff.

Expanding the sitcom’s universe years after the original series concluded back in 2019, the future show had multiple rumours surrounding it for months now, though it all started getting clearer once several actors from The Big Bang Theory were said to reprise their roles.

Additionally, the upcoming series, also helmed by The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon ’s Chuck Lorre, has just received its official title which, apart from confirming the main storyline, also gives a major hint about the future show staying loyal to its origins.

The Big Bang Theory Next Spinoff Gets a Promising Stuart-Centric Title

Lorre’s next spinoff has been long considered a long-overdue closer look at The Big Bang Theory’s Stuart Bloom, which turns out to be true as the upcoming series is now titled Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, according to Deadline.

Apart from making it clear that the main storyline will revolve around Stuart, the new title seemingly confirms that the character is unlikely to have gone through some major changes during the time that the Big Bang Theory was off the screen.

That said, the show might finally be able to highlight the importance of Stuart's story in the original series and to bring him to the forefront, all the while not offering him a hero cape and leaving things just as they were when The Big Bang Theory was still running.

Stuart Fails to Save the Universe Will Reunite The Big Bang Theory’s Outcasts

Though the future show will most certainly not bring any lead character back, it might be a good thing after all, considering that the spinoff aims at giving a long-deserved chance to the original show’s most underrated characters.

Starring Kevin Sussman in the leading role, the series will also see Lauren Lapkus, Brian Posehn and John Ross Bowie reprising their roles as Stuart’s girlfriend Denise, Bert Kibbler and Barry Kripke respectively.

The cast hasn’t been confirmed officially yet, but the recent rumour about the ongoing production suggests the actors potentially involved in the future series are ready to jump in as soon as Stuart Fails to Save the Universe is greenlit for sure.

Considering the show’s focus on Stuart, this will be an exciting addition since the character, previously often seen lonely and depressed, started a new life once Denise was in it.
