Fans are divided on the future of the popular show as Netflix planned for only four seasons so far.

While some Bridgerton fans believe that the show has the potential to reach its full run of 8 seasons, others are more pessimistic.

'I'm so disappointed that they're only doing four seasons,' says one fan. 'Bridgerton has been such a huge success and I really hope they don't cancel it early like they did with so many other shows.'

Others, however, are more optimistic, having some hope for Shona Rhimes and her newest endeavor.

'I think Shonda Rhimes has a lot of power and influence,' says another fan. 'If Netflix doesn't want to continue with the show, I have no doubt that she could find another platform to finish it. I'm confident we'll at least get more than four seasons.'

Many are concerned about the fates of characters like Gregory and Hyacinth, who may not get a solo season after all. Shonda Rhimes, the creator of Bridgerton, has stated that she envisions a total of 8 seasons for the show. However, with Netflix's track record, it's uncertain if the streaming giant will commit to such a lengthy run.

Fans are looking to the success of other Shonda's long-running series, such as Grey's Anatomy, for hope. But with Netflix's Stranger Things and The Crown both coming to an end after season 5 and 6 respectively, the future of Bridgerton and its eventual seasons count remains uncertain. Some believe that the premise of having eight different stories could work in the show's favor and allow it to reach at least seasons 5 or 6. Others are holding out hope that Shonda Rhimes will find a way to continue the show on another platform if Netflix decides not to renew it.

For now it's anyone's guess if Bridgerton will indeed reach its full potential of 8 seasons, but for now, fans will have to be content with the four that have been greenlit and mapped out. Will the show's popularity be enough to secure a longer run, or will it suffer the same fate as many other series on the streaming giant? Only time will tell.
