11 ‘Shameless’ Relationships, Ranked From Worst to Actual Couple Goals

Which couple will take the crown as the best one from Shameless? And which relationship is the absolute worst? Here's what we think.
Every great TV show needs its share of romance and drama — something Shameless certainly didn't lack throughout its 11-season run. Through the chaotic Gallagher family and their equally dysfunctional partners, we witnessed relationships ranging from train wrecks to happily ever afters.
Today we're diving into 11 of the most memorable Shameless relationships, ranked from worst to absolute best.
11. Lip & Karen
Status: not together anymore (thankfully).
If there was ever a relationship that proved teenage hormones and poor judgment are a dangerous mix, it's Lip and Karen's toxic romance. They were a big mess of people who kept destroying each other.
It was hard to watch Karen spiral into increasingly destructive behavior. And her taking advantage of Frank (Lip's father, by the way) only made things worse.
10. Fiona & Gus
Status: divorced.
Fiona and Gus' romance was a relationship that crashed and burned. They got married way too fast (after barely knowing each other) and it went exactly how you'd expect. Fiona ended up cheating, Gus got super bitter about it. Definitely not one of Fiona's proudest moments.
9. Fiona & Robbie
Status: short-lived side affair (trainwreck alert!).
While dating the decent Mike, Fiona hooked up with his troublemaker brother Robbie. Not her finest moment, folks. Robbie was basically a walking red flag. He was an alcoholic who relied on his family and pulled Fiona down with him. This relationship sent her life into a total spiral.
8. Carl & Kassidi
Status: not together due Kassidi’s passing.
When Carl finally had a shot at breaking free from the neighborhood, Kassidi wasn't having any of that. She took clingy to a whole new level, basically trying to keep Carl on a leash 24/7. While not the most toxic relationship on the show, it definitely makes our cringe list. Girl needed to learn about personal space!
7. Fiona & Sean
Status: ended relationship during the wedding (major yikes!).
This one's a real heartbreaker. Just when we thought Fiona had finally found her match, Frank shocked everyone at the wedding by revealing that Sean was still using heroin behind her back. The trust disappeared immediately and so did the relationship.
6. Frank & Monica
Status: ended due to Monica's passing.
These two were far from perfect, and addiction and mental health issues made sure of that. But in their own twisted way, Frank and Monica actually loved each other. If Monica had gotten help (or if Frank had pushed for it), their story might've been totally different.
5. Frank & Bianca
Status: ended due to Bianca's passing.
Frank and Bianca's relationship, while brief, was surprisingly genuine. She was terminally ill and chose to live her last days to the fullest with Frank, of all people. And Frank actually stepped up, showing a side we rarely got to see. Their time together was short but sweet.
4. Lip & Sierra
Status: could've been endgame (but wasn't).
It might be controversial, but Lip and Sierra were in a “right person, wrong time” situation. Sierra was probably one of the most compatible girlfriends Lip has ever had. They had great chemistry, understood each other, and just overall clicked. If things had played out differently, they might have actually made it work.
3. Fiona & Jimmy/Steve
Status: not together.
Steve (or Jimmy, or whatever his name was) had that bad boy charm going on and Fiona totally fell for it. But man, did this guy have issues with telling the truth! He kept lying about everything from his name to his job. Despite the crazy chemistry they had, their relationship was set up for failure. Even after Jimmy came back to reunite, things just didn't work out.
2. Ian & Mickey
Status: married and living their best life.
If you want the definition of “enemies to lovers” done right, look no further than Mickey and Ian. These two started off on a rough note, but their relationship grew into something seriously special. Through all the drama, breakups and makeups, they just kept finding their way back to each other. They actually grew together, faced their demons and came out stronger.
1. Kev & V
Status: married with kids and thriving.
Kev and V are the ultimate power couple of Shameless. While everyone else is losing it, these two have their life sorted out. Sure, becoming parents threw them off course a bit (because when doesn't it?), but they managed to push through.
Their relationship is basically what everyone else on the show should've been aiming for. And we got to be realistic here: if any couple was going to make it through all the drama, it was always going to be these two.
