1923’s Season 2 Is Paramount+ Biggest Hit, but Fans Are Still Divided

Ever since Yellowstone ’s first season premiered back in 2018, Taylor Sheridan ’s numerous TV series have been accompanied by universal acclaim and the audiences’ positive response, though some might have found issues with the writer-director’s most recent release.

While Sheridan is getting things done for Landman’s season 2 production, his other Western-y show 1923, which back in 2022 came as yet another prequel to Yellowstone, has been having great times with its second and final season on Paramount+.

However, the new instalment’s impressive achievements go into contrast with what some fans have to say about it.

1923 Fans Aren’t That Impressed by Season 2

Despite garnering a much bigger audience for its premiere episode back in February, 1923 has so far left several viewers concerned about the show’s ability to wrap the story up in a satisfying way.

Though many have remained quiet until recently, probably waiting for several more episodes’ release to see the dynamics, the heated discussion broke out a couple of days ago, following the second season’s episode 4 release on March 16.

“Things are starting not to make sense for the sake of the plot and pacing.. why they are pacing it like a kid in high school trying to stretch a 100 word essay into 500 words... I'm not sure”, Redditor guitarguy35 wrote, highlighting that, despite their mixed feelings about the second instalment, they can’t wait to see what’s in store for the next episode anyway.

Many chimed in, with briteeyes1111 stating that so far 1923’s second season has felt like “the same episode over and over”.

“I just can't take it serious and dramatic, all the scenes are so over the top, unreal, and poorly acted imo. I watch just to see how much more stupid it's getting”, Mediocre-Ninja-6235 revealed.

The user also added that they had been convinced Sheridan’s praised writing would do the thing, even though they had stopped watching Yellowstone after season 1 and had no hope for another prequel show whatsoever.

Despite Criticism, 1923 Season 2 Is Doing Good

With all the love he receives, Taylor Sheridan isn’t safe from some harsh backlash either, though that might not be a frequent case for him whatsoever.

While Landman’s season 2 is only about to have its production started, 1923’s second instalment is already halfway through and is currently moving towards its finale scheduled for a release on April 13.

Premiering on February 23, the season turned the entire series into Paramount+’s most successful project to-date, making the biggest opening with more than 5 million viewers and having a 146% increase compared to the first instalment’s premiere episode results.

1923’s season 2 episode 5 is now set to arrive on Paramount+ on March 23.
