What's happening with Alicent's promise to Rhaenyra? Where's Otto Hightower? And 3 more burning questions that House of the Dragon needs to answer in Season 3.
Season two of House of the Dragon slowly built up to one of the most brutal battles in the history of Westeros. While the Battle of the Gullet will be an important event in Season 3, there are also five more questions that have yet to be answered.
1. Where is Otto Hightower and Who's Got Him?
Season 2 dropped hints that he's locked up somewhere, but frustratingly, it never tells us who's behind it. Could House Beesbury be settling old scores? The show is keeping us totally in the dark about this one, and we're dying to know who's bold enough to imprison the former Hand of the King. And whether or not Hightower will make it through.
2. Will Alicent Keep Her Promise to Rhaenyra?
The ending of Season 2 left us stunned when Alicent went to Rhaenyra to propose a truce. After all their rivalry, it was hard to believe that Alicent would be so nice. However, her exhaustion likely influenced her decision. The real question though, is whether Rhaenyra can actually trust her.
History tells us that Alicent isn't great at following through. With all the chaos in King's Landing, keeping that promise seems unlikely. Whether she'll want to break it or get caught up in the mess, that promise seems very unreliable.
3. What's the Deal with Daeron Targaryen?

Finally! Season 3 should bring us Daeron Targaryen. We're dying to see what his personality is actually like, how he feels about his dysfunctional family, and what role he'll play in the Dance of Dragons.
4. Will Rhaena Tame Sheepstealer (That Wild Dragon on the Vale)?
The big dragon question for Season 3 is whether Rhaena will bond with Sheepstealer. The show is already setting this up by having her search for the wild dragon in the Vale.
Book change alert: this would be a major departure from the books, in which a character named Nettles claims Sheepstealer instead.
5. What's Next for Helaena in Season 3?
Season 2 showed us that Helaena wants no part in this war. However, Season 3 may push her to her breaking point. She's already fragile after losing her son and with everything coming to King's Landing, things look bleak.
