All You Need to Know About This RuPaul's Drag Race Season 17 Showmance

Did Kori King predict the romance between her and Lydia B Kollins before going on Drag Race? Well, let's find out and dig deeper on this season's romance.
RuPaul's Drag Race continues to be an experience unlike any other show on television. Just when we think we've seen it all the queens come up with something fresh that leaves us gagged and thoroughly entertained.
This season is no exception. In fact, it’s one of the most entertaining seasons of the past few years alongside Season 16. And last week we just got another gag-worthy moment that might've just earned them an Emmy.
The chemistry between Kori King and Lydia B Kollins finally reached its peak in a way that only Drag Race could do. Kori King herself perfectly summarized the moment on X:

And honestly, she's not wrong. So let's dive deeper into the Season 17 showmance.
From First Glance to Full-Blown Romance
I know, I know, we all could spot the connection between Kori and Lydia from the moment they first stepped into the werkroom. But did you know that King herself predicted the romance in her audition, saying:
“In my mind, my man is on the set of Drag Race and I’m going to meet him on Drag Race.”
Now that's the kind of manifestation we all need in our lives, right?
As we’ve already mentioned, we all have seen the spark between the two. And we even had doubts that production might just clash them together with Redditor madeiras88 writing:
“Happy for them. I'm not a fan of bets, but I have a suspicion that they will end up in the bottom 2 together and lip syncing as production probably won't waste the opportunity for some lowkey drama.”
Well, unfortunately the prediction proved to be accurate.
The Kiss That Has Everyone Talking
Last week's episode delivered exactly what fans had anticipated: Kori and Lydia found themselves in the bottom two, forced to perform against each other in a heart-wrenching lip-sync battle.
And through that lip-sync they made Drag Race herstory kissing each other for the first time on stage. Even RuPaul was gagged!
But more shocking news came out just recently when Kori King was talking to Entertainment Weekly. She revealed a very sweet detail that had us reaching for tissues.
When asked about if she's surprised that the kiss between her and Lydia didn't save her, she simply stated:
“No. Once it was me and Lydia, I did not want to stay at all. I knew how bad Lydia wanted it, and I’d rather have her stay than me. However, if it was me and Onya in the bottom? Baby, I’m bucking! Even if I did win, I would have to find a way [to save Lydia]. I’d have to BenDeLaCreme myself.”
In a competition where the crown means everything, being willing to sacrifice your own success for someone you love is HUGE.
Episode 9 truly gave us something special and we just cannot wait for future ones. Season 17 is the new era for Drag Race and it sure is worth tuning into.
