Chris Hughes & JoJo Siwa Romance Confirmed: Fans Losing It Over Age Gap & Ex Drama

The internet went crazy over Chris Hughes & JoJo Siwa relationship. Here's why.
Rumors that Hughes and Siwa were dating began circulating in May. But it wasn't until June 1 that we received a confirmation.
In a recent Snapchat story, Hughes and Siwa were seen lying in bed together, clearly sharing an intimate moment. Yet the internet isn't living for their romance whatsoever.
The main concern: the age gap. Siwa turned 22 last month, whilst Hughes is currently 32.
The “Ex” Factor: Celebrity Big Brother Drama
JoJo's messy breakup is also a concern for fans. Siwa broke up with her partner at the Celebrity Big Brother UK after-party (the show through which Siwa and Hughes met).
Moreover, in a now-deleted TikTok, Kath Ebbs (the ex partner of JoJo) alleged that Siwa has “emotionally cheated” on them. (via Cosmopolitan)
When Us Magazine asked about the situation, JoJo cleared the air, saying:
“I had a lot of talks with my ex about that and we cleared it up. They said that out of anger and frustration, but they also know that’s not true.”
Chris Hughes & JoJo Siwa: Real Romance or Publicity Stunt?
Context: the timing and public nature of their relationship has led many to question its authenticity. The Snapchat photo Hughes posted doesn't help the situation.
"Most likely a superstar trying to reignite her career anyway she can. They should've given it some time and not put somewhat emphasis on her sexuality. Have her grow up in a different way with a different fan base. Pretending to be straight with this guy is making things worse," Redditor FuelFragrant wrote.
Chris Hughes and JoJo Siwa: Sexuality Debate
“Sexuality is fluid, gender identity are fluid. It could be one thing today and one thing tomorrow,” JoJo clarified in “The Viall Files” podcast
However, some believe that JoJo actually harms the community.
“You can’t “feel lesbian” for years and then just switch up because now you wanna experiment with men or keep things. That’s not “growth” — that’s mislabeling, and it actively harms actual lesbians who have fought tooth and nail for the right to claim that identity without being erased, redefined, or used as a stepping stone,” Redditor 121_saturn_121 wrote.
