Everything You Need to Know About 'Severance' Season 3: Plot, Release Date & More
Here's what's happening with the most popular Apple TV series right now.
Fans of Severance have grown accustomed to waiting years for new episodes. Three years passed between the first and second seasons – the pandemic and Hollywood strikes took their toll.
However, it seems that viewers' patience will soon be rewarded. Showrunner Ben Stiller promises a shorter hiatus, and the team already has groundwork to cover. Here's what we know about the release date, plot, and the questions the creators will have to answer.
When Will 'Severance' Season 3 Be Released?
Although there is no exact release date yet, filming for the third season of Severance is expected to take place from April to December 2026.
Assuming the schedule holds, the premiere won't be expected until mid-2027.
What Will 'Severance' Season 3 Be About?

Although there are no official plot details, the second season's finale left so many questions unanswered that the outlines of a third season are already taking shape.
The main mystery is Mark's reintegration. The procedure designed to merge his innie and outie has yielded only vague flashes of memory thus far. What will happen when the two selves finally merge?
The second most important question is Lumon's true purpose. The corporation started by producing painkillers but now uses separation in childbirth, dentistry, and even in tests where innies endure the trauma of their outies.
Mark worked on the Cold Harbor test for two seasons, which turned out to be a process of creating new personalities for his wife, Gemma. It appears that Lumon is preparing to make billions from "subhumans" who will feel the pain of the rich.
Finally, there's the love triangle: Mark S. and Helly R. have sacrificed everything for each other, but their outies don't share these feelings. How will they manage their time inside the office?
What Happened in the Finale of 'Severance' Season 2?

Mark's innie fulfilled outie's request and found Gemma on the test floor. It turned out that, unknowingly, he had been creating new personalities for her all this time.
Each test in Cold Harbor involved pain – either psychological or physical – to determine the extent to which the innie was separated from the outie's traumas.
Mark led Gemma off the floor but remained inside himself, along with Helly R. This was a pivotal moment: Mark's inner personality recognized itself as a separate person for the first time and made a choice important to himself, not his outie.
Harmony Cobel, resentful of Lumon for appropriating her work, helped the characters. She may become their ally in the future war with the corporation.
The final shot: Mark S. and Helly R. run back to the office hand in hand, leaving Gemma outside.
