Fans Have Only One Thing to Say About FBI: International and Most Wanted’s Double Cancellation
Both series were FBI’s long-standing spinoffs, but there’s only one that viewers wanted to stay for longer.
It might be a sad day for those who have been following CBS’ hit police procedural show FBI and its spinoffs ever since the former premiered on TV back in 2018.
Despite the flagship series continuing its run for several more years to come, the franchise’s spinoff shows like FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International aren’t on the schedule anymore as Deadline reported about CBS’ decision to cancel both series after their current sixth and fourth seasons.
The news flooded in soon after an exciting update that the franchise got back in January, though FBI’s fans might not be as disappointed as expected.
Fans Are Raging Over 1 Thing About FBI Spinoffs’ Cancellation
As the original show’s two spinoffs were brought down at the same time, it wouldn’t be surprising to see many lamenting about CBS’ brutal decision. This, however, doesn’t seem to be a case for FBI: International and Most Wanted as, apparently, the former was a much bigger favourite than the latter.
On Reddit, the franchise’s fans took over the comments under one of the users’ post that said they enjoyed both shows equally; others did agree, but not entirely.
“Well that just sucks. I was fully prepared for one to be cancelled, but not both. And I really liked International”, Redditor skieurope12 wrote, later on getting some support from another user Steak-n-Cigars who stated “I mean I can see Most Wanted but not Int’l”.
Many others also chimed in saying they definitely rooted for International ahead of its then possible renewal.
“They’re cancelling international? Are you kidding me? It’s so good. It’s best FBI show”, Redditor chocolatecoconutpie concluded.
FBI’s 2 Spinoff Are Scrapped, but One More Is In Production
Despite a wave of complaints caused by the cancellation news, fans might still be expecting an even more intriguing storyline to become the base of another upcoming spinoff.
As Deadline reported back in January, the franchise’s new series was already in the works, with a premise promising to collide the worlds of FBI and CIA in an attempt to keep the order in the city.
The details are still under wraps, but the official logline says the story will revolve around “a dedicated, strait-laced FBI agent and a street-smart CIA agent are part of a new, clandestine taskforce charged with solving and preventing domestic terrorism in and around New York City”.
