Forget Landman, Taylor Sheridan Has 3 More Shows for You to Watch
The next season isn’t in the works yet, but there’s still a lot of other options to fill your free time with.
Taylor Sheridan ’s big Paramount+ hit Landman is off the screen, leaving fans desperate for the upcoming news about the second instalment, but the series probably won’t be back for at least a couple of years.
Conveniently enough, Sheridan has already got several replacements for Landman in store. Before the latter hit the small screens with its first season back in November, the writer and producer was at the helm of these 3 other shows — and all of them recently received new seasons.
Tulsa King
A crime drama show with Sylvester Stallone in his first ever leading role on TV, Tulsa King follows Dwight "the General" Manfredi who, after having served a sentence of 25 years for mafia intrigues, is freed and then sent to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he starts his criminal career afresh.
Tulsa King’s second season hit the screens back in September, yet so far there’s no saying whether the next instalment will soon be in the works. Considering that the show received a warm welcome from both critics and viewers, there’s a big chance for Tulsa King to return with new episodes sometime in the future. The series is also an easy find on Paramount+.
Lioness
Another hit series written by Sheridan, who this time stays away from Western drama and turns to the spy thriller genre instead. Lioness, starring Zoe Saldaña and Nicole Kidman, follows Joe McNamara who leads undercover CIA operations while trying to find balance between her high-risk professional life and personal routine.
The show premiered back in 2023 and was quickly greenlit for a second season, which dropped on Paramount+ in October of last year. Both seasons can still be found on the same platform.
Yellowstone
How can we not mention this one? A neo-Western drama series starring genre vet Kevin Costner premiered back in 2018 and eventually spawned 4 more seasons before coming to its definite end last year. Yellowstone dives deep into everyday troubles of the Dutton family owning a big ranch which shares a border with Broken Rock Indian Reservation, Yellowstone National Park and land developers’ territory.
Having wrapped its story up, the show allowed its main star Kevin Costner to jump onto his long-awaited project of passion and other Western drama titled Horizon: An American Saga, while Sheridan keeps himself busy working on Landman and other series. Yellowstone is still available for watching on Paramount+.
