2025 marks 20 years since the Supernatural premiere. Jared Padalecki has an important message to all the fans that supported him along the way. Here's what he had to say.

Supernatural is still that special show for many of us and actors as well. For Jared Padalecki, the show evolved into something far more meaningful than just another acting gig.

Earlier this year, Padalecki hit up MegaCon Orlando to celebrate the show's 20th anniversary. During the event, he opened up about his personal story behind the show.

“I can think back to the 20 years — with the strike and COVID and this and that — and there were a lot of sacrifices. There's been a lot that like, this sucks, and I don't wanna wake up and I don't wanna leave the house, I don't wanna get out of bed and I don't wanna go be with that person," Padalecki revealed. Wholesome: the actor took the moment to thank Supernatural fans who've always been supportive and encouraging.

“But in hindsight, I just feel so grateful [for the fans] because I was very public about some of the s– I was going through that I've been kind of not secret about but haven't shared yet and I was met with such love and acceptance that it meant a lot to me,” he added.

Jared Padalecki's Powerful Message to ‘Supernatural’ Fans

Padalecki also has got a powerful message for anyone struggling. The actor wants people to stop feeling embarrassed about mental health issues.

“I don't wear it as a scarlet letter. It's not like I'm shameful like, ‘Hey, I see a therapist, I've been to a clinic,’” he said.

Instead: he takes the opposite approach, by saying:

“I wear it proudly. I put it on my face and tell everybody. If you're not in a situation where you need that degree of help then don't seek it. I needed a surgeon — not literally — but I needed it and here I am.”
