Isn't it great sometimes to watch a show where nothing bad happens and people just love life? Enough with the drama!

We all know that television serves many purposes, but we seem to have forgotten that the main one is to entertain people. With the wide range of shows available today, it still seems like the choice comes down to a murder mystery and a sci-fi show about a post-apocalyptic society.

Don't get me wrong, I love those mind-bending shows, but sometimes I just want to watch a lighthearted comedy where people don't die every 5 minutes. So what’s a better choice than a sports comedy with a popular actress as a main star?

Running Point is a new show on Netflix that premiered on February 27. And while it took the series some time to climb up the success ladder, the show with Kate Hudson in it is now topping the platform’s chart, even leaving Robert De Niro’s political drama Zero Day behind.

What’s Running Point About?

The show follows former party girl Isla Gordon, played by Hudson, who must find her way after being named president of her family's basketball team, the Los Angeles Waves. The reason? Simple: her brothers had to go to rehab...

The thing is, her father never looked at her that way, even though she was a die-hard basketball fan. And now she thinks it's fate that she's the president and wants to prove herself in the notoriously male-dominated industry.

Although Running Point is a light-hearted series, that doesn't mean there's no room for unexpected twists and turns. And, of course, there is romance and plenty of family drama. By the way, the show’s co-creator is Mindy Kaling, so you know it’s going to be good.

“It’s a great easy watch show. Most shows are really serious now so it’s nice to have something where basically nothing really bad happens sometimes. I’ve also always [found] Kate Hudson super likeable so that helps and it was so nice seeing Brenda Song, she was the funniest character,” Redditor toysoldier96 said.

Running Point is available to stream on Netflix.
