Mark your calendars!

Aaron Paul is back in a new mind-bending movie, and trust me, it's not your typical alien invasion flick. Ash is coming to spice up the sci-fi genre with a fresh perspective.

Paul teams up with his old friend, the stunning Eiza González (you might know her from Baby Driver, the Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfar), in this crazy ride directed by Flying Lotus. Yeah, the same genius behind the music you probably have on your playlist. And when a musician turns director, you know you're in for something special.

Why Ash Is Worth Looking Forward To

A woman (Eiza González) wakes up to the eerie silence of a distant planet, and it is then that she discovers that she is facing her worst nightmare – the entire crew of her space station has been brutally murdered. Piecing together the gruesome mystery of their deaths, she unintentionally sets off a series of horrifying events that, as we assume, she cannot stop.

The newly released trailer captures this haunting idea perfectly. It masterfully blends thriller and sci-fi. And we couldn't help but notice a hint of mystery in there as well.

What particularly caught our attention was the stunning visuals – the creative team made an impressive choice of the color palette. Dark, thoughtful scenes are complemented by bright neon accents, which immerse us deeper and deeper into the atmosphere of this strange planet and the uncertainty of the future, of course. Besides, fans of Event Horizon and Dead Space will definitely enjoy the atmosphere of Ash.

The trailer definitely gives us hope for a deeper, more psychological journey that will have us questioning everything we see.

"We have a lot of scenes together, and our dynamic is super intense," González told EW, really getting us hyped up for the upcoming movie experience.

The visuals are trippy, the story keeps you guessing, and we have no doubts that the performances will be top-tier. Seeing Paul back in a leading role is always a treat. Paired with González's raw talent and Flying Lotus's innovative directorial style, we're looking at what could be the next big thing. All I can say is that they know how to get us hooked!

For fans of either actor, sci-fi lovers, or anyone who enjoys their horror with a heavy dose of psychological tension, Ash is shaping up to be an unmissable addition to 2025's film lineup. Available only in theaters March 21.
