Paradise is everyone's new darling, but it seems that the last episode robbed fans of a great story.

Hulu 's latest series, Paradise, has turned out to be a real gem. From the perfect cast to the totally unexpected twists and turns, the show keeps you hooked every minute. Each episode of the show consists of jaw-dropping revelations, but still manages to give you explanations of what the hell is going on.

Warning: heavy spoilers for Paradise season 1 episode 8 ahead!

Episode 7 is even considered by many to be one of the greatest examples of modern television. However, the final episode has disappointed many fans of the show, and the reason is simple. They feel they were robbed of a more nuanced explanation of why the librarian killed Cal and how he actually did it.

Trent’s Motivation and Plan Don’t Make Sense to Some Fans

While there was footage of the murder itself, like we actually saw the guy using a weapon to kill the president, we still never learned how he got inside the building and Cal’s room. Considering the fact that the cameras were off and Billy was sleeping, there’s still no chance Trent would have managed to enter a room with sealed doors.

“I’m troubled that they didn’t show how he entered the White House, let alone the President’s bedroom. I get that Billy was supposed to be sleeping but there would have to be some other agents still on duty that a person couldn’t just enter the house with an obvious large weapon and casually make his way into Cal’s bedroom with no one doing anything,” Redditor Nycesq2077 said.

Another thing that worries fans is the fact that Trent the librarian spent so much time planning the murder, but never fully understood what was going on and who the real villain was. The worst thing about Cal's fate is that so many people thought he was the one responsible for the end of the world, but in reality he was just the sweet-hearted puppet that fell into the wrong hands.

“The tie in to the librarian and his why just made no logical sense to me. For all the time the librarian took researching before he decided to come up with a plan to kill the president, he never figured out who was really behind the build of the city, which was really disappointing,” Reddit Suspicious-Ad1189 said.

Fans of the show feel that this was just lazy writing and that the fact that the librarian was the killer made no sense. His reasons sounded too superficial and there was no way they messed with his head so much that he would end up being a cold-blooded killer.

Paradise Season 2: Everything We Know So Far

Season 2 of Paradise was confirmed long before the first season finale aired on Hulu, and it wasn't a surprise considering the love and praise the show received from both viewers and critics. However, it's interesting to speculate about where the next season will go.

While the first chapter was a murder mystery within a political thriller (with a sci-fi premise), the new season will mostly focus on Agent Collins trying to figure out the world outside of the so-called Paradise and find out if his wife Teri is really alive. So a major genre shift seems inevitable.

The premiere date for Paradise season 2 is yet to be scheduled.
