This 100%-Rated New Sports Documentary Series on Max Is a Must Watch, and Here’s Why

Watching the series gives you a chance to learn a little more about the legendary NBA franchise.
Are there any sports fans here? Well, even if you're not, don't miss your chance to become one with this documentary series. Celtics City premiered on MAX on March 3, but is already generating a lot of buzz in the media and has received a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The new docu-series chronicles the outsized cultural impact of the NBA's most successful franchise, the Boston Celtics. The documentary takes an in-depth look at the team's journey, struggles and triumphs. It also highlights the meaningful connection the team has had with the city of Boston and American history as a whole.
The series is produced by Bill Simmons and features interviews with several Celtics legends, like Bob Cousy, Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, Robert Parish, Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum. The true fans of the legendary team are absolutely stunned to have this, as hearing the history from the POV of the iconic members is everything a person needs from a documentary.
However, it seems like the series is already doing a great job in converting people into diehard fans of Celtics.
“Someone who didn’t grow up in Boston or a Celtics fan (came to the team in the 00s during and after college), I appreciated a more in depth telling of the Red/Russell era. Also think it’s great that there’s a possibly last chance to get some of the legends of the era interviewed on tape to keep their stories going,” Redditor Efficient_Art_1144 said.
It's been established that there are going to be 9 episodes, and it seems like each one is going to be about a certain time and a certain person. The first episode that everyone loved so much was about the Cousy era up until his retirement. So fans are trying to guess the order of the next episodes. Redditor guitarpatch's guess looks pretty solid.
For many of the team's fans, it's a big deal to have such a nuanced documentary about the legendary franchise. Many of today's fans were introduced to the Boston Celtics by their fathers, and now they share the same bond with their own children. So to dive into this one show is to not only learn about big-time sports, but also to touch the history behind it.
New episodes of Celtics City will air every Monday on HBO and Max at 9 p.m. ET.
