28 Years Later: The Bone Temple has been confirmed, and it even has a release date – the horror film will be released on January 16, 2026.

The film will focus on Jimmy's group and its conflicts with other clans. Spike's father, Jamie, will definitely search for his son. Jimmy will most likely win the favor of the vulnerable boy, forcing Jamie to work hard to regain Spike's trust.
Perhaps Danny Boyle will delve into global issues within the horror universe as well. In 28 Years Later, it was mentioned that the virus did not spread to other countries. But what if someone in the UK tries to escape the country?
Boyle said that if 28 Years Later is successful, it will be expanded into a trilogy. The director already has ideas for the third movie and intends to direct it himself.

Will Cillian Murphy Return in '28 Years Later: The Bone Temple'?
Cillian Murphy will reprise his role as Jim in 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple. However, Jim will only make a cameo appearance in the next movie.
Danny Boyle said that Jim's role would be expanded in a potential third film. In an interview with ScreenRant the director shared:
“I've seen a rough cut of Nia DaCosta's film, The Bone Temple, and he is introduced beautifully at the end of that film. And that obviously leads you, in the way that you'll probably realize that Jimmy is going to be a huge part of the second movie, having been introduced in the coda of the first movie. Likewise, Cillian will be a huge part of the third movie.”
