Landman Season 2 Has One More Monty Miller Replacement Instead of Tommy Norris

Unlike you might have thought, he isn’t the only boss there now.
A Paramount+ major hit, Western-y drama Landman created by Taylor Sheridan has been nothing but a turmoil in the first season’s finale, but the answer to fans’ most demanded question right now isn’t as definite as they might think.
That said, the final plot twist saw Jon Hamm’s M-Tex Oil CEO Monty Miller deciding to step away from the nerve-wrecking and hectic life of an oil company ruler that certainly caused him many health issues, eventually resulting in his death in Landman’s season 1 episode 10.
Despite the show securing one of the leading positions in the company for Billy Bob Thornton’s Tommy Norris, Landman still can (and probably should) opt for another potential deal maker, and, surprisingly, this year’s awards season might have taken its toll on such an outcome.
Despite Tommy’s Position, Demi Moore’s Cami Is Now a Major Figure Too
Monty’s health problems and eventual death put Cami in a complicated position, forcing her to decide whether it’s better to sell M-Tex after all or keep it, despite huge risks after a major change of power.
In Landman’s season 1 episode 9, Tommy urges Cami to sell the company, reassuring her that the money she will receive will be more than enough to provide for her kids and even grandchildren, but she ultimately refuses, stating that Monty’s legacy shouldn’t be abandoned like that.
Having remained one of the most ignored characters throughout the first season’s almost entire run, Cami is finally the one to make a crucial decision, and her husband’s death was what paved the way for her bigger role in the upcoming second instalment.
It’s very unlikely to see Cami in a full business mode though, since she had no say in Monty’s decisions about the company whatsoever, yet she still has a right to inherit the position, also putting Tommy beside her to help her run M-Tex.
Landman Needs to Give Bigger Roles to Female Characters After Demi Moore’s Major Success with The Substance
Though it remains one of Paramount+’s biggest hits ever, Landman has been repeatedly criticised for Taylor Sheridan’s writing of female characters that are limited with screen time and some good action in the show’s entire storyline.
Even compared to Tommy’s wife Angela and daughter Ainsley, Demi Moore’s Cami is a very unutilized supporting character with a huge potential, but things still might shift significantly when Moore gets that Oscar for her role in Coralie Fargeat’s hit body-horror The Substance.
Casting Moore for Landman’s first season, Sheridan obviously had no idea the actress’ career would skyrocket like this once again; this is why Cami’s involvement in the decision in regard to M-Tex’s future was probably Sheridan’s best idea that will likely pave the way for Cami’s much bigger role in the next instalment or at least more screen time that she deserved a long time ago.
