The Paramount+ hit show has recently been renewed for another instalment.

With his own Western-y universe assembled throughout the last several years, Taylor Sheridan doesn’t shy away from granting his favorite actors multiple roles in his different shows.

This is the case for James Jordan who kicked his collaboration with Sheridan off by starring in his earlier movies Wind River and Those Who Wish Me Dead, afterwards taking on recurring roles in the writer-director’s hit series Yellowstone, Mayor of Kingstown, 1883, Lioness and Landman.

Now that Sheridan’s latest hit show Landman has been officially renewed for another season and more casting news is about to flood social media, fans of his other series might recognise someone who has allegedly just joined the second season’s cast.

Taylor Sheridan Reportedly Casts Sam Elliott for Landman Season 2

Fans of Sheridan’s 1883 will likely be delighted to see another familiar face in Landman’s upcoming new season as, according to Matt Belloni’s report, Sam Elliott will now become one of the leads in the show, coming off his tremendously successful role in 1883, developed by Sheridan as a prequel to Yellowstone.

Launched back in 2021, 1883 concluded after its first season in 2022, which probably means Elliott has been ready to come on board for Sheridan’s other series all this time, with a role the details about which remain under wraps so far.

The actor making a significant addition to Landman’s lead cast might also signal Jon Hamm’s definite departure from the show after his character, oil tycoon Monty Miller, dies in the first season’s finale.

Landman Season 2 Is Expected to Give More Power to Women

Even with another male character getting ready to join the rest of the leads in Landman, fans have been vocal about the show’s need to do justice to the women who frequently remain in the shadows.

This is especially concerning since one of the leading female roles belongs to Demi Moore whose phenomenal success at this year’s awards season after starring in Coralie Fargeat’s The Substance made her a new top-tier actress in Hollywood.

Moore’s scarce appearance in Landman’s first season will most likely not be the case anymore, as her character Cami Miller will have to take on a bigger role at M-Tex once her husband is gone.

Landman’s first season is currently streaming on Paramount+.
