‘Survivor’ Fans Already Predict Season 50 Flopping Due to This Casting Decision

It feels like the winner of Season 48 was announced just yesterday. Yet here we are already getting a cast for Survivor Season 50. Exciting? Well, not really. Even before the official announcement, when it was all just rumors, fans called out the nonsense.
The main issue: too many people from newer seasons are returning (50% of the cast to be exact). Viewers wanted the OG Survivor to make a comeback. However, it seems like the core idea for this season is the OG players vs. the newcomers.

How can they celebrate 50 seasons without properly acknowledging the contestants who helped establish the show's foundation? The old-school Survivor represented a different kind of game.
The main difference: the OG focused more on social dynamics and survival elements than on handling all the production’s plot twists.

“This is gonna [be] the absolute worst edited season ever. Did they really put Q, Genevieve and Dee in the same cast?” Redditor MacheteNegano wrote.
“The cast isn't THAT bad. However, the fact that there are only six players before the 30s is unjustifiable considering the amount of great characters from the first 30 seasons who were willing to play,” another fan, oldschooooolfan on Reddit pointed out.
“I don't mind representation from New Era, but choosing so many from five seasons, two people who we have NEVER seen play before, is just a lot. Give us New Era but spread out the representation from the first four seasons there, at least. Those four seasons have arguably the most memorable players, too,” Redditor jdessy said.
Why It's Too Early to Vote ‘Survivor’ 50 Out
Hear us out: cast mix could reveal new sides to the newer generation. After all, some of Survivor's most notable characters have emerged from returning players who showed us something completely unexpected.
Worth noting: much of the criticism surrounding recent seasons has been directed at the editing. It hasn't exactly been a fan favorite recently.
Therefore, we should be more concerned about the editing than the contestants. But, fingers crossed, Season 50 will bring back the original Survivor vibe.
